Can-O-Van-O-Gram Records, "a very small studio", announces CD albums dedicated in loving memory to the king.
Singer Jim VanHollebeke is much more than
just another impressive Elvis sound-a-like. A Presley fan since
"Heartbreak Hotel", he authored the humorous Sticky Elvis
magazines (now listed as collectibles in Rosalind Cranor’s book) and Sticky
Elvis Newsletters in the early 70’s. He followed up the satire series with
his internationally acclaimed For Elvis Fans Only column. Jim covered
every corner of the Elvis world in that entertaining cycle of articles which
lasted for twelve years in Goldmine, and later, Osborn’s Discoveries
magazine. Both For Elvis Fans Only and Jim’s 45 RPM tribute, "The
Legend Lives On" can be referred to in the all-inclusive book, Elvis
From A to Z by Steve Tamerius. More recently, Jim has been indulging his main
passion .... singing. Especially Elvis songs.
If you like ‘alternate takes’ and have ‘em all..... you’re
looking at the next logical step!

Because of Elvis
Contains some of our favorite Elvis songs PLUS 2 bonus songs. Jim logged over forty tracks for this album and was forced to whittle that number down to the 22 that we were able to fit in the program.

My
Other Favorites
An "Off-Topic" CD in which Jim gives a
salute to some other recording artists of Elvis' era. Twenty one songs
paying homage to great singers like Tom Jones, Ricky Nelson, Beatles,
Neil diamond, John Cougar Mellencamp, Bob Seger and others. Jim's
appreciation of these singers is obvious here but you may also detect a
touch of the KING too! |

More Elvis, Please!
As in the past, our main focus in
covering Elvis' material is to present some of the more obscure songs
that he's done ...and perhaps widen the scope of what people PERCEIVE
that he did. With MORE ELVIS PLEASE, Jim performs Elvis songs that you
might DISCOVER, rather than re-visit. He believes it is more
entertaining and much less repetitive than the usual Elvis tribute. |

Alabama Dream
The original song for which this
album is named was written by Jim after a hiatus of over 20 years from
his music writing. Actually,” Alabama Dream" was begun as an
instrumental with no words by a Mr. Ray Jennings for a "B" side on one
of his single releases. The rest of the program reflects
VanHollebeke's passion for the original rock & roll of his youth (plus a
desire to have some fun and possibly a couple laughs too). Listen to the
fervor as he sings the big hits of favorite artists. Remembering
the really good times with this program, we think THIS may be our best
album yet! |

Rockin' Gospel
Although most of Jim's previous recorded works have reflected the mainstream pop music of his youth, a growing urge to create a new album with traditional Gospel increasingly haunted his subconsious. So now, after several years of compilation and efforts to gather an imaginative assortment for this revered American art form, Jim created this hour-long program. He sincerely hopes you'll enjoy his heartfelt labor of love.

My Eyes Adored You
With this album, I began to search for something that might appeal to wider tastes which could vary from my personal memories - something appealing to the 'ladies' in a sentimental or romantic flavor.
